A crucial meeting between the leadership of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) took place in Mogadishu on Thursday.
SoDMA Commissioner Mahamuud Moallim held talks with the head of IOM in Somalia, Manuel Maques Pereira.
Top on their agenda was identifying ways of strengthening collaboration between the two agencies, which they consider essential for effective disaster management and humanitarian assistance, particularly in a region facing multiple challenges.
Finalizing a joint strategic plan early in the year also appeared prominently in their discussions, as it will likely enhance their ability to respond to emergencies and support affected populations in a more coordinated and efficient manner.
