One soldier was killed in overnight attacks reportedly carried out by Al-Shabaab fighters in Hiraan region.
Reliable reports from the region indicate that the soldier was killed when soldiers from African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) and Somali National Army (SNA) clashed with extremists.
The attacks took place in two separate locations; that is, Jalalaqsi and Bulobarde.
According to security officers, the government and AMISOM forces repulsed the attacks from both groups of extremists.
The extremists then fled from the region.
Nevertheless, they took off only after the joint AMISOM and SNA efforts killed a combined five militants in both attacks.
