General Odawaa Yusuf Rageh, who is Somali Army Chief, was the target of a suicide car bomb on Monday.
Reports reaching the media indicate that he was targeted in an attack carried out in Mogadishu.
According to witnesses, the suicide car bomb was aimed at his convoy.
Sources confirmed that at the time of the attack, he had just left the offices of the Ministry of Defense before his convoy came under attack in Tarabunka.
