The House of the People (Lower House) has passed the National Higher Education Bill, marking a significant step in reforming Somalia’s higher education sector.
This bill, introduced by the Ministry of Education, represents the first major regulatory overhaul in recent years aimed at enhancing the quality and governance of higher education in the country.
With this new legislation, which legislators passed on Wednesday, Somalia seeks to establish a robust framework for accrediting institutions, improving educational standards, and addressing the needs of students and educators.
