MOGADISHU — The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has formally congratulated President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on his re-election as the President of Uganda, expressing Somalia’s dedication to enhancing bilateral relations.
In a statement released via social media, President Mohamud commended Museveni’s leadership and acknowledged Uganda’s achievements in development and its contribution to regional stability.
“I extend warm congratulations to H.E Kaguta Yoweri Museveni on his re-election as President of the Republic of Uganda. Under his leadership, Uganda made notable progress in development & regional stability. I reaffirm Somalia’s commitment to strengthening our brotherly ties with Uganda,” President Mohamud stated.
The President highlighted the enduring diplomatic relations between Somalia and Uganda, emphasizing the significance of continued collaboration in fostering peace and development throughout the region.
The two nations maintain robust connections, particularly in security cooperation and regional integration. Uganda remains a key strategic partner, playing a crucial role as a troop-contributing country to the African Union mission, thereby supporting stability efforts in the Horn of Africa.
