President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of Somalia has signed the 2023 national budget.
He signed the budget that the federal House of the People (Lower House) and Senate (Upper House) passed last week.
The two houses of parliament held a joint session to discuss and approve the budget.
Somalia’s 2023 budget is the largest in the history of the East African nation. Parliament approved a budget of more than $973 million.
