Somalia has agreed to proceed with joint military counterterrorism operations with the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS).
Daud Aweis agreed on this course of action with Ambassador Mohammed El-Amine Souef.
Aweis is Somalia’s Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism.
Souef is the Special Representative of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission (SRCC) and the Head of ATMIS.
They reiterated their commitment to continue conducting joint military offensives against Al-Shabaab militants in Somalia.
They also agreed to enhance their collaborative efforts in peacebuilding and reconciliation.
