Somalia and Ethiopia Have Launched Talks, Says Djibouti Minister

Talks between Somalia and Ethiopia have started.

A Djiboutian minister confirmed that the talks kicked off in Nairobi, Kenya.

Mahamoud Ali Youssouf, the Djiboutian Minister of Foreign Affairs, said that the two nations are scheduled to take their talks to Djibouti.

He added that Djibouti has volunteered to mediate talks between both nations.

Somalia and Ethiopia have been at loggerheads since the start of the year following the seaport deal that the latter signed with Somaliland on January 1.
