Somalia needs the United States to join its push for the lifting of the arms embargo.
Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre said this during his meeting with the US President Joe Biden.
They met on Friday in New York on the margins of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
The UN Security Council (UNSC) imposed the ban on Somalia several years ago.
Somalia has sought to convince the UNSC to lift the ban multiple times without much success.
Prime Minister Barre urged US President to help Somalia in this regard.
