Somalia Receives $150,000 in Humanitarian Aid from China

Humanitarian efforts in Somalia are set to receive a massive boost following the injection of a financial donation worth $150,000 from China.

Fei Shengchao, the Chinese Ambassador to Somalia, handed over the funds to Mahamuud Moallim on Sunday.

Moallim, the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SODMA), received the donation with tons of gratitude to the government and the people of China.

They agreed to use the funds in addressing the humanitarian needs of people affected by the drought that has left much of the country devastated for the last few years.

Somalis in areas recently liberated from Al-Shabaab will benefit from the donation too.

Amb. Shengchao handed the funds in the form of a cheque at the SODMA offices in Mogadishu.
