Somalia Receives over 1.8 Million Cholera Vaccines

Somalia has received more than 1.8 million cholera vaccines.

The vaccines arrived in the East African nation on Sunday, May 29 to help in the fight against the increasing cases of cholera.

Officials from the federal Ministry of Health joined their colleagues from the World Health Organization (WHO) Somalia in receiving the vaccines.

They were also in the company of representatives from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Somalia.

The vaccines arrived at the Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu.

Cholera cases have increased substantially in the country as drought persists and water becomes scarcer.
