Abdisaid Muse Ali, Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, held talks on wide-ranging issues with his counterpart from the Hellenic Republic.
The talks between Ali and Varvitsiotis Miltiadis took place in Brussels on February 19.
Their discussions took place on the sidelines of the ongoing European Union and African Union (EUAU) Summit in Brussels.
Some of the issues discussed include human trafficking and illegal migration.
The recent discovery of dead Somalis along the border between Greece and Turkey also featured prominently in the discussions between Ali and Miltiadis.
Ali shared his belief that the plight of migrants need not be politicized.
He also urged Greece to uphold international law while safeguarding human dignity.
He assured Miltiadis that Somalia is ready to cooperate with Greece to address and resolve issues revolving around the illegal migration of Somalis to the Hellenic Republic.
