Somalia’s Senate Passes Data Protection Bill

The Senate of Somalia has passed the Data Protection Bill.

Senators passed the bill in a session held at the parliamentary building in Mogadishu on Thursday.

The new bill tackles ways of handling information on Somalis.

Specifically, it advocates for unmatched commitment to handling data in a respectful manner while protecting the fundamental rights and freedoms of Somalis.
