Somaliland’s Ministry of Energy has provided a roadmap of the plans it has for the country’s energy sector.
The energy ministry made its plans known during the recent National Development Summit.
Jama Mohamoud Egal, the Minister of Energy, was at the summit, which took place at Ambassador Hotel.
Egal stated that the ministry has already drafted the National Electricity Act, which now awaits approval by parliament and President Muse Bihi Abdi.
He mentioned that the ministry has also created a policy to regulate the energy sector in the country.
Additionally, he also provided details of the many tasks and investments the ministry is pursuing in mining, oil exploration, and affordable energy for the people of Somaliland.
