Abdulahi Abokor, Somaliland’s Minister of Roads and Transport, has confirmed news of his recovery from the deadly COVID-19.
Abokor said he was diagnosed with the virulent disease on June 5, 2020 after testing by health professionals in Hargeisa.
Since then, he has been in isolation receiving treatment.
His initial diagnosis came after he developed mild fever that forced him to visit a nearby hospital voluntarily.
Abokor confirmed that he has been adhering to the directives issued by the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization since then.
He returned to the hospital on June 15, 2020 for further tests where his doctors confirmed that he had beaten the novel Coronavirus.
The minister is now expected to resume his duties.
