The Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism said that the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) is now fully in control of Balad Hawa after two days of intense clashes.
Intense fighting between FGS forces and Jubbaland security forces broke out on January 24.
Osman Dubbe, the information minister, issued a statement on Monday saying that government has taken control of the region.
Furthermore, he also indicated that the government forces have arrested over 100 prisoners of war (POWs) after the two days of deadly clashes.
Several people were reportedly injured and killed during the clashes.
