The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), a state-run aid agency, has extended humanitarian assistance to both Somalia and Djibouti.
Through its aid, TIKA has helped more than 500 families from Mogadishu who abandoned their homes and relocated to camps in Garasbaaley.
The aid primarily featured foodstuff that included sugar, oil, pasta, flour, and rice. TIKA made the donation to help families in the region celebrate the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Several top government representatives were at the handing over ceremony. Among them were Governor Abdurrahman Ahmad Ali and Deputy Governor Abdirahim Ali.
Ali Ahmad, the Regional Commander, also attended the ceremony together with TIKA personnel working in the city.
Additionally, TIKA also supported the efforts of Red Crescent Society in Djibouti with Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) to help it fight the COVID-19 menace in the country.
