Two Somaliland Ministers Diagnosed with COVID-19

The Ministry of Health has confirmed that two government ministers in Somaliland have tested positive to the deadly COVID-19.

The two ministers were part of the newly confirmed 26 infections tested in the last 24 hours around the country.

Consequently, the country’s total infections have shot up to 358 cases.

Moreover, the tally of recoveries has reached 48 while 22 people have succumbed to the novel Coronavirus around the Horn of Africa country.

Mohamed Ahmed Awad, the country’s Minister of Investment, confirmed that he is one of the two cabinet ministers receiving treatment for COVID-19.

On Monday, he posted the news on Twitter by saying he tested positive to COVID-19 after developing mild symptoms that forced him to rush to the hospital.

However, Awad informed the public that he was in stable condition and that he hopes to recover and resume his duties soon.
