The State Leader of Puntland, Saed Abdullahi Deni, has pledged to visit Mogadishu soon to discuss wide-ranging issues affecting the relationship between Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) and the Federal Member States (FMS).
The decision to visit Mogadishu in the coming days has been welcomed by the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM).
UMSOM said it supports and encourages the meeting between President Deni and President Farmaajo. It offered its approval via a tweet. The organization hopes that the meeting will lead to a change in the rift that has hindered good relations between FGS and member states.
According to President Deni, other leaders will attend the meeting too. His Garowe-based administration promised that Somali’s regional leaders will be at the forum too to address issues affecting the entire country.
