The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has established a Community Education Committee in Barawe.
USAID established the committee jointly with the federal Ministry of Education, Culture, and Higher Education.
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) Somalia also played a significant role in establishing the committee.
During its launch, USAID stated that the committee would provide parents, students, and schools to connect to improve the standards of education in Barawe.
Furthermore, the committee’s existence would raise awareness to increase the enrolment of students in local schools.
