Voter Registration Exercise Progressing Smoothly in Sool and Sanaag

Somaliland officials are progressing with the voter registration exercise in the two remaining regions of Sool and Sanaag smoothly.

Later this year, the breakaway region of Somaliland is scheduled to hold local and parliamentary polls.

Mohamed Kahin Ahmed, the Minister of Interior, commented on the ongoing registration exercise on January 13.

In his view, the residents of Sool and Sanaag have turned out in huge numbers to register for the upcoming elections.

He expressed gratitude to the residents of the two regions for the overwhelming support they have extended to the exercise.

Furthermore, Ahmed assured those interested in registering of increased security in both Sool and Sanaag.

“Security agents continue to patrol regions where the registration exercise is going on to ensure that everyone is safe and secure,” the Minister of Interior said.

Ahmed reminded those who lost their voter cards or have never registered before to take advantage of the ongoing exercise.
