The World Health Organization (WHO) has recommitted itself to support Somalia to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
Mamunur Rahman Malik, WHO’s Representative to Somalia, made this commitment on December 12 as Somalia commemorated UHC Day 2020.
Somalia’s Ministry of Health is currently holding the UHC Day 2020 celebrations at Decale Hotel in Mogadishu.
During his address, Malik said that the global organization is prepared to help Somalia to overcome the financial challenges encountered in providing UHC.
Furthermore, Malik urged authorities in the East African nation to establish a national health account and civil registration for all citizens.
