African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) troops conducted a cordon and search operation in a Jubaland town on August 10.
The Tuesday operation took place just outside Abdalla Birole Town.
Abdalla Birole town is located some 32kms to the southwest of the Jubaland capital city of Kismayu.
AMISOM announced that the contingent responsible for the operation was Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) who operate from the Abdalla Birole Forward Operating Bsse (FOB).
According to AMISOM, the operation is crucial for ensuring that the town and entire Jubaland region enjoy security, peace, and stability, especially during this electioneering period.
