Around 45 percent of all Somali children in the country could be facing malnutrition by the end of 2022.
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) announced this shocking piece of news on Sunday, June 26.
According to the UNICEF report, around 1.5 million children under the age of 5 are at serious risk of malnutrition before the year ends.
Consequently, UNICEF Somalia has appealed for quick intervention from international partners.
Specifically, UNICEF urged the G7 countries not to ignore what’s happening to the young children in the East African nation.
In its report, UNICEF mentioned that it had provided Life-Saving Treatment to more than 30,000 young children in Somalia in May 2022.
