Beledweyne Floods Displaced over 245,000 People

The ongoing floods in Beledweyne have displaced over 245,000 people.

Somali Disaster Management Agency (SODMA) announced these figures on Wednesday.

Beledweyne, a major city in Hiiraan, has felt the devastating power of floods for around two weeks.

The floods occurred when River Shabelle burst its banks as its level arose due to the incessant rain.

Tens of people have lost their lives thus far.

SODMA has urged international and local partners to intervene with urgent humanitarian aid.
