Calm Returns to Guri-El Town after Deadly Clashes

An uneasy calm returned to Guri-El town after the recent deadly clashes.

Scores of people lost their lives while many others are in hospital nursing the injuries they sustained during the clashes.

On October 24, a regional leader confirmed that the town is now calm.

District Commissioner Anas Abdi spoke to the media on Sunday to confirm that Guri-El town is now more stable.

The deadly clashes were between federal government troops and local militia.

According to DC Abdi, the town is now under the control of regional authorities. He also stated that local police are now completely in control.
