The Danish Ambassador to Somalia, Steen Sonne Andersen, commended Somaliland’s National Electoral Commission (NEC) on their well-organized and transparent preparations for the upcoming elections.
He made these comments on Tuesday following a recent pre-election visit to Somaliland and the NEC headquarters.
While commending the polls body, Am. Andersen emphasized the importance of a free, fair, and safe election for Somaliland’s future.
Furthermore, the Ambassador encouraged all stakeholders—political actors, civil society, media, and international partners—to unite in support of a credible and inclusive electoral process.
Somaliland is scheduled to hold presidential and parliamentary elections on the same day, November 13, 2024.
