The devastating inferno that rocked Mogadishu on the evening of May 19 destroyed property worth over $30 million.
Abdi Abshir Dhore, the Managing Director of the Somali Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said this on Friday.
According to Dhore, the fire destroyed business premises and different types of assets.
Dhore said that the figure could be much higher that’s because the amount released is only from initial assessments.
The fire razed a busy shopping complex in Mogadishu on Thursday evening and continued destroying property until late in the night.
