IDPs in a Benadir District Live in Dire Conditions, Declares OCHA

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) declared that internally displaced persons (IDPs) in a camp in a Benadir district are not living well.

A delegation from OCHA recently visited the IDP camp in Kahda, Benadir.

The OCHA delegation was shocked to discover that the living conditions at the IDP camp were horrible for everyone, including new arrivals.

IDPs are at the camp after fleeing their homes because of terrible climate and conflict.

Consequently, OCHA has called upon authorities and international humanitarian agencies to intervene fast.

Specifically, it called for the lifesaving support that 90 percent of the women and children at the IDP camp need urgently.
