Lawmaker Mahad Salad has officially begun his tenure as the new Director of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA).
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud proposed Salah as the ideal candidate to lead NISA last week.
The Council of Cabinet, meeting under the leadership of Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble, approved Salad’s nomination.
The new spy chief took over the office on Sunday, May 29.
President Mohamud and Prime Minister Roble attended the handing over ceremony for NISA’s new director on Sunday.
The event took place at the NISA Headquarters in Mogadishu.
