OCHA Warns of Increased Acute Food Insecurity in Somalia with the Onset of Gu Rains

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has warned of increased acute food insecurity in Somalia.

A communique from OCHA shows that acute food insecurity is getting worse in 18 hotspots around the world.

The East African nation is one of the hotspots, as per the OCHA report.

Therefore, OCHA has called for increased and urgent funding from humanitarian partners to not only save lives but also prevent further deterioration of the situation.

Gu rains, which run from April to June, will make 4 million Somalis food insecure.
