President Mohamed Farmajo officially announced the one million textbooks published and printed locally for primary schools as part of the ongoing efforts to standardize education system in the country. The president said the one million student books together with 102,000 teachers’ guide will be instrumental in enhancing teaching and learning across the country. A total of 300 000 students in 915 schools countrywide, are expected to benefit from these books. The Federal Government of Somalia, controls only 24 public schools carrying 65,000 students. The majority of educational institutions in Somalia are operated by private entities.
