Mohamed Hussein Roble has expressed gratitude to President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo for appointing him Somalia’s new Prime Minister.
On Sunday, Roble issued a video briefing saying that he was “honored that President Farmaajo had appointed him the Prime Minister.”
On Thursday September 17, Farmaajo announced that Roble would be the new Prime Minister.
Prior to this appointment, Somalia had gone close to two months without a Prime Minister after the Lower House voted Hassan Ali Khaire out of office in late July.
While thanking the president, Roble also requested members of the House of Representatives (Lower House) to “approve his appointment and give him confidence” to carry out his duties.
His appointment is now before the Lower House where Federal Members of Parliament are generally expected to approve Farmaajo’s decision.
