The Somali Disaster Management Agency (SODMA) and Food Agriculture Organization (FAO) contemplate improved collaboration on humanitarian issues.
Leading officials from both organizations met on Wednesday to discuss this and other issues.
Mahamuud Moallim, SODMA Commissioner, discussed these issues with Etienne Peterschmitt, the FAO Representative and Country Director for Somalia.
Other issues that featured in their discussions included food security analysis and programs to reduce the impact of drought and floods.
Peterschmitt assured the SODMA officials of increased support from FAO and a better relationship between the two bodies.
SODMA Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Adan was present too.
