Somali military killed 70 Al-Shabaab militants in counterterrorism operations undertaken near Harardhere town.
The Somali National Army (SNA) troops carried out the offensives in Tabar-mooge, which is roughly 28km to the north of Harardhere in Mudug.
Thirty other militants were injured in the offensives.
More militants are now in police custody as they help authorities with investigations.
According to sources, the military undertook the operation jointly with the nation’s international security partners.
