1. Overall CPI Increase:
The All-Groups CPI rose by 5.57% over the twelve months leading to December 2024, up from 5.20% in November 2024.
2. Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages:
Monthly Decrease: Prices fell by 1.00% in December.
Year-on-Year Deflation: Prices declined by 1.49%, marking an improvement from the 2.72% deflation recorded in November 2024.
3. Housing, Water, Electricity, and Gas:
Monthly Increase: Prices rose by 0.31% in December.
Year-on-Year Inflation: Prices increased by 0.70%, reversing the 0.39% decrease observed in November 2024.
These figures, released on Friday, indicate a mixed inflationary environment, with improvements in food prices but rising costs in essential utilities.
