Somalia’s Foreign Minister Welcomes Italian Ambassador to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

Mogadishu, Somalia – Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdisalam Ali, officially welcomed Italy’s Ambassador to Somalia, Pier Mario Daccò Coppi, during a meeting held on Wednesday at the ministry’s headquarters in Mogadishu.

The meeting underscored the long-standing and historic relationship between Somalia and Italy, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to deepen collaboration and expand strategic cooperation across various sectors of mutual interest.

According to a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the discussions focused on strengthening the bilateral partnership and identifying new areas of engagement to support Somalia’s development and regional stability.

The visit by Amb. Coppi reaffirms Italy’s continued support for Somalia’s recovery efforts and its role as a key European partner in diplomatic, security, and development matters.
