Somaliland Coast Guard worked closely with their Ethiopian counterparts to rescue 170 human trafficking victims.
Coast guard officers based in Sanaag confirmed that they arrested the victims during patrol conducted on Thursday.
According to Somaliland officers, the victims were arrested while attempting to escape to other different routes.
At the time of their arrest, they were on the verge of being smuggled out in boats. They were on their way to Yemen.
