A police officer who was killed by gunmen in a Garadag village was laid to rest on July 24 at a local burial ground.
An assailant in a village known as Goot-Hiilay, Garadag, gunned down Abaas Mohamed Dirie, a police inspector.
Several dignitaries attended his burial.
Among them were Faisal Hiis and Mohamed Noor Khalif, two police commanders. Eng. Ahmed Osman Hassan, the Governor of Sanaag Province, also attended Dirie’s burial.
Hiis and Khalif assured members of the public that security officers are in hot pursuit of the suspected assailants.
