MOGADISHU: The United States has increased military operations in Somalia recently, reports the United States Africa Command. Working alongside the Somali government, U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) carried out airstrikes against al-Shabaab militants between January 25-26, according to an AFRICOM statement. In a separate announcement, AFRICOM confirmed conducting airstrikes against ISIS-Somalia from January 23-24, also in cooperation with the nation’s authorities.
