Nine Somali soldiers were arrested for firing live ammunition during the Independence Day celebrations held in Mogadishu on Wednesday.
Police officers from the Benadir Regional Police Command arrested the soldiers during the June 26 celebrations.
The soldiers defied a ban on use of live ammunition that the police issued earlier this week during the celebrations.
Furthermore, police launched investigations after reports regarding gunshot incidents and probable casualties surfaced.
