Mahdi M. Gulaid, Somalia’s Acting Prime Minister, has appointed a new Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister.
Abdirahman Mucaawiye Sheikh takes over office as the new PS.
The immediate previous holder of the office during the tenure of ex-Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire was Abdirizak Hussein Adan.
However, Adan served as the Permanent Secretary under Khaire on a temporary basis. Gulaid has confirmed that Sheikh will take over as the substantive permanent secretary.
President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo appointed Gulaid as the Acting Prime Minister over a week ago after the House of Representatives voted to remove Khaire from office.
