Acting Prime Minister Opens Mogadishu’s Institute for Security Studies Officially

On Sunday, Mahdi M. Gulaid, the Acting Prime Minister of Somalia, officially opened the Institute for Security Studies (ISS) in Mogadishu.

Gulaid said the institute is critical for training and equipping professionals in the security sector with vital skills needed to perform their jobs well.

He hailed the “specialist education” that the Mogadishu-based institute is scheduled to provide to its trainees in various fields.

Further, the Acting Prime Minister mentioned the range of skills that professionals would be acquiring at ISS, which improves their capacity for keeping the country and Somalis safe.

Gulaid said the institute’s opening is testament of the commitment of the Federal Government of Somalia to improve security in the Horn of Africa nation.
