Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) has announced the arrest of Abdinasir Mohamed Hassan, accused of collaborating with the Al-Shabaab terrorist group.
According to NISA’s statement, Hassan was responsible for inspecting vehicles used in suicide attacks and facilitated nine attacks, including the deadly bombing at the SYL Hotel on March 14, 2024.
This arrest highlights NISA’s intensified efforts to disrupt Al-Shabaab’s operations and hold its operatives accountable.
The group’s reliance on such facilitators underscores the importance of targeting key nodes in their network to prevent further atrocities.
