The African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) has completed the first phase of troops withdrawal.
ATMIS announced this on Thursday.
It stated that the first phase ended with the handing over of more forward operating bases (FOBs) to Somali National Army (SNA).
Thus far, ATMIS has handed over the control of six FOBs to SNA in the last couple of weeks.
The FOBs are in HirShabelle, Southwest, Jubbaland, and the outskirts of Mogadishu.
