Today in Mogadishu, 51 military and police officers serving with the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) completed a five-day training on preventing gender-based violence.
The training, part of the global #16DaysOfActivism campaign, focused on legal frameworks, the psychological impacts of gender-based violence, and strategies to protect vulnerable communities in Somalia.
The Special Representative of the AU Commission Chairperson (SRCC) and Head of ATMIS, Ambassador Souef Mohamed El-Amine, praised the officers for their dedication to combating all forms of violence in ATMIS areas of responsibility.
