The Office of the Attorney General has asked the Supreme Court to drop the elections petition by the immediate former boss of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA).
Attorney General Suleiman Mohamed Mohamud wrote a letter dated April 16 to the Supreme Court on this issue.
Ex-NISA chief Fahad Yasin recently appealed the decision by the Federal Elections Implementation Team (FEIT) to cancel his electoral victory.
A few days ago, though, FEIT ruled that the entire electoral process for the seat that Yasin won must be repeated.
In the letter, the Attorney General wants the Supreme Court to drop Yasin’s case and allow the repeat to take place.
