Moussa Faki Mahamat has called for calmness between Ethiopia and Somalia.
Mahamat, the African Union Commission (AUC) Chairman, issued the call on Thursday.
His call follows the escalation of tension between both nations.
Somalia is furious after Ethiopia signed a deal that grants Somaliland international recognition.
Somalia still considers Somaliland part of its territory.
Mahamat said that both nations need to de-escalate the tension between them.
He urged them to respect each other’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and unity.
