Currently, the organization has around 19,000 troops in the country.
They are part of the AU Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS).
The troops were initially part of the AU Mission in Somalia (AMISOM).
“Our records show that we have lost around 4,000 soldiers since 2007,” El-Amine stated.
