Barre Rushes to Mogadishu’s International Airport to Resolve Mayhem of New $9 Fee

Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre rushed to the Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu to resolve the chaos that has ensued over a new $9 fee.

The Prime Minister was informed of the chaos that emerged when many travelers refused to pay the new fee.

The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation recently introduced the fee and communicated the same to all travel agencies.

In announcing the fee, the ministry stated that it was only complying with international standards applied worldwide.

As per the ministry’s announcement, all departing passengers are required to pay the new fee.

Passengers described the fee as “illegitimate.”

However, many of them refused to do so on Wednesday thus prompting the Prime Minister to dash to the airport to attempt to ease passengers’ concerns.
